Louvre ticket prices: official ticket or partner offer?

The Louvre’s own ticket office charges €22 for EEA citizens and residents aged 26 and over, and €32 for visitors from outside the EEA aged 18 and over. If it still has a time that suits you, book there: it is the cheapest paid option. Partner prices are higher because partners resell reserved entry with their own service fee, and some add extras such as a short introductory tour. They help most when official slots for your date or time are gone.

What to do when Louvre tickets are sold out

Official timed tickets for popular days and times can run out. Work through these options in order.

  1. Check the official ticket office first. At €22 or €32 it is the cheapest paid option, so make sure your date and time are really gone before paying more. Open official ticketing (opens in a new tab)
  2. Compare partner entry tickets. Partners resell reserved timed entry and often still have times when official slots are gone. Pick your date in the calendar above to compare times and prices. Compare entry tickets
  3. Consider a guided tour. Tours are sold from separate availability, so they can still have places when entry tickets are gone. Check whether museum entry is included. Compare guided tours
  4. Go on a Wednesday or Friday evening. The Louvre stays open until 21:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays, which adds later entry times.
  5. Check the free first-Friday evenings. Entry is free for everyone after 18:00 on the first Friday of the month, except in July and August. Free slots must be booked and are released online a few days before. See the next free dates
  6. Don’t count on buying at the door. The Louvre sells tickets on site only when attendance is low, so arriving without a ticket on a busy day is risky.

Louvre tickets: frequently asked questions

Can I buy Louvre tickets on the day of my visit?

Yes, if slots are left. Check the official ticket office first; if your time is gone there, today’s partner tickets and guided tours are in the calendar above. Tickets at the museum itself are sold only when attendance is low, so don’t rely on buying at the door.

Can you just turn up at the Louvre without a booking?

You can, but it is risky. The Louvre recommends a timed ticket for every visitor, including those who enter free, and sells tickets on site only when attendance is low. On busy days you may not get in without a reservation.

Does the Louvre sell out?

Yes, popular days and times do. When official timed tickets are gone, partner entry tickets or guided tours may still be available. The calendar on this page shows what is left for the next 30 days and is rechecked every hour.

How much are Louvre tickets in 2026?

€22 or €32 at the official ticket office. Since 14 January 2026, EEA citizens and residents pay €22 and visitors from outside the EEA pay €32. Visitors under 18, and EEA citizens or residents under 26, enter free. Partner entry tickets currently start from €61.

Is there a skip-the-line ticket for the Louvre?

Not past security. Every visitor goes through the same security check. A timed ticket, official or from a partner, means you don’t queue to buy a ticket and enter at your booked time. Offers sold as “skip the line” are reserved timed entry, sometimes with extras.

What are the Louvre opening hours?

9:00–18:00, until 21:00 on Wednesdays and Fridays; closed on Tuesdays. Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday: 9:00–18:00. Wednesday and Friday: 9:00–21:00. The museum is also closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. Last entry is one hour before closing, and rooms start to close 30 minutes before.

When is the Louvre free?

On first-Friday evenings, on 14 July, and all year for some visitors. Entry is free for everyone after 18:00 on the first Friday of each month except July and August, and on 14 July. Visitors under 18, and EEA citizens or residents under 26, are free all year. Free visitors should still book a timed ticket.

Is the Mona Lisa included in a Louvre ticket?

Yes. Any Louvre admission ticket covers the Mona Lisa in Room 711 when the room is open; there is no separate ticket for the painting. For fewer people around it, choose the first 9:00 entry and go there first.
